Oil level sensor Inactiv due to error?

Background: Car is a 2009 e92 m3 with 27k on it. Had an oil level sensor error when i bought it and am currently using the oil level option on the stalk to check oil. Just did an oil change today and replaced the sensor and it's still giving me the same sensor inactiv error even after driving it. Any ideas??

Also, it seems my service intervals never count down or anything. Maybe i should reset it? I feel like it's a programming issue for everything.

Believe you can reset by holding the stalk button for a number of seconds while engine turned on, warmed up to get reading and flat ground. Tried?

Do you have the part number of the sensor you replaced? Check the wiring going to that sensor too to make sure you don't have a short, etc.
