This vehicle part is plastic which logically can be fixed with melted plastic. Hence, the glue gun. It is not as rigid as the original material but it'll do.
Materials: 1) Glue gun (preferably w/ high-low settings; Stanley brand @ Home Depot) 2) Flex Seal spray -black (Home Depot) 3) Tools to remove side splash guards ( box wrench & socket wrench: 10 mm?) Steps: 1) Remove the side splash guards from under front bumper. There is a total of 5 bolts. 3 in the wheel well, 1 under the bumper & 1 right behind the under the bumper bolt. 2) wipe clean all areas 3) Line up all broken parts & save as much pieces as you can 3) Lay splash guard on cardboard or aluminum foil 4) Stick everything together with glue gun & any gaps can be filled in by glue gun. 5) Spray external surface of part with Flex Seal. Let dry overnight. 6) Install Waiver: I'm not responsible for any injuries, dismemberment or death that might result from this DIY. |

Thank you! I am doing to do this over the weekend. I was going to purchase a new right side cover but for the $20 or so bucks it would cost to fix it, this makes more sense.

I patched mine together with some salvaged plastic and a pop riveter. I like the flex seal idea to improve the appearance since a little is visible from the front of the car. My car is slightly lowered and I scrape this part. I don't want to spend $200 every 2 years on new parts that I will also break.
