Combox Retrofit Adapter Questions

I made my own retrofit adapter harness using the Kufatec connectors and I go to plug it in and it looks like it isn't quite "plug & play". Both the TCU and MULF connectors have tabs that stick out preventing it from plugging into the Kufatec connector. I've found no mention of having to modify either connector in any of the threads, not that I couldn't have missed it. What do others do, cut the tabs off the TCU & MULF connectors?

Thanks
