is bmw tuning still a thing?
before the truck (cracks me up to call it that), i had a 135i, with a dealer-installed PPK. That meant no warranty issues should anything iffy happen with the engine. I keep reading about the racechip, but am a bit worried about running into warranty problems should anything untoward happen.
does bmw still tune, and if so - is there anything on the horizon for the x5?

You can get an M sport tune, but it is very conservative. To me unless you are adding 60 - 80 HP to the wheels, it's not worth it. Dinan, JB4, Racechip, seem to be the best. You will get more bang for you buck with a JB4 from berger motorsports or RaceChip. Also these are piggy back systems so you can remove them should anything go awry.
