Edit Nav "My Information" message header sent from Google Maps?
Facing 3 weeks of driving 3K miles starting next week, I am distracted by the fact that when I use Google Maps to send an address to the nav that it is always labelled "My Information".
I asked BMW Assist and a BMW 'Genius' who told me there was no way to edit the header. This means that I have 15 addresses for this trip but I can only see the street address in the message center and not the city. I have to click on the individual message to see the complete address and even then there is no specific information about that location other than the address. Am I missing a way to move these 'messages' over to the Nav address book where I can edit the header to help me more easily identify the "My Information" addresses? I think the issue described here is the same when sending an address from the BMW remote app. BTW, when I searched the forum I saw that some were having issues with Google Maps. In my case, I had to change this year from a POP account to Gmail so that Google Maps would send addresses to my nav (first in an E70, now a F15). This link is just for reference: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...MyInfoFAQ.aspx

You asked (on Fest) if I used the BMW app which I mention in the OP as having the same results, at least that is the way I remember it.
If the app was more customized, I would consider using it but facing a major trip it is much easier to use Google Maps on my desktop pc with a large screen. But during the course of the trip I will have to chose been the app and entering an address manually into the BMW nav.

Sorry for my miscue.
The SendToCar app looks promising especially when I am on the road but I still wish we had more options with editing Google Maps' "My Information".

PS: we know more than BMW genius and customer service. I had to walk them through their own Android MY BMW REMOTE application yesterday morning. Pathetic.

Well we have freezing rain today, ice storm tomorrow and more ice on Saturday so I will not be driving until Sunday. My F15 is in the garage, however, so I can do some limited testing.
I can at least start packing since we must leave on Wednesday.

Sounds good. Let me know how you like it. I use Send To Car all the time. Typing anything into the navigation is a complete waste of time to me. Nothing compares to a computer/phone speed. This is one thing I love about it, and I also might just start using Waze or Google Maps once my HDLink/APCast system arrives in a few days.

I just did a test comparing the SendToCar app versus the BMW remote app. The end result is the same in terms of what I see in the BMW message center.
I, personally, find the BMW app easier to use unless there is way to streamline these instructions since I used the one-time free compatibility test: http://sendtocar-mobile.appspot.com/ios.html

Ok, so from the reading I have done. Go into Maps on your phone. Select the destination and highlight the actual POINT on the map. This will give you options. Instead of just the address, the full information will show. I'm not sure about the MY INFO piece, but it will tell you the name of the address if it's a business location or a saved location with names, etc.
