New X5 - glove box won't open. What to do?

Ok, this may sound silly. The car just got delivered, few days later, I found that the glove box won't open. I have tried to lock/unlock it, but still won't open. Dealer said to bring the car for repair/glove box replacement.

Is there anyway to open it manually? Maybe hack it using plastic ruler or something?

I also found couple threads online saying that a blown fuse might cause a glove box not to open?? I don't see how a fuse relates to glove box latch mechanism.
