Trailer hitch negotiation with new X5 purchase

Anyone have any success negotiating with a dealer to get a trailer hitch "thrown in" or at a reduced cost? The $2k price sure seems steep....

Steep??? How about f'ing outrageously insane? However, I think $750 installed would be a deal.

Depends on how much profit is already in it for the dealer. However, you might want to use it as leverage and say that another dealer is willing to play ball.

I asked my dealer about getting it installed before delivery and was told to go to a third party, without being even given a cost. They did not seem interested at all.
