Driving the f15 after my wife I get all my settings and seat position bar the hud when i open the door. I need to manually hold the memory position button every time to get my hud at the right height. Is there a fix for that or do I need to go to a dealer for software update?

I have the same issue. There's a thread about this already and it sounds like a s/w update does fix it. Not a huge annoyance for me right now so will wait until I have to take it in for something else as well or normal service.

Does this SB apply to 2015 as well? Just wondering...

Curious, what does the service bulletin say. Not too fond of having them totally reboot the system. All of the stuff I had put in would be lost!

I don't have the full bulletin itself. Just got the bulletin number from the notes from my recent service visit to get the soft close doors fixed. While it was in the shop, I had them fix the HUD.

IIRC it applies to 2014 vehicles only, not an issue on 2015s. I didn't have to start over from scratch after it was applied, mine and my wife's profiles were still there with all of our settings saved. The beauty is I no longer have to constantly move my HUD position when I get in the vehicle anymore (it would always reset to default if she drove our X5 before me).

I'm definitely glad I got them to fix it! Everything just works now (knock on wood)

Any personalised settings, codings excluded, can be saved onto a USB stick so if they reload the software and wipe it all out it can be reloaded from the USB without having to do it all again.

I have read that some dealers do this anyway, mine does not

As temporary workaround you can push the memory button that holds your profile to bring back the HUD to the correct position.
