Motul 8100 x-cess anyone?
I understand BMW has loosened the spec on using TWS so I was thinking about changing to Motul since I've read many good things about it. Has anyone used it in their S65 engine? Any experience?

If its the automotive 10W40 racing Motul, Yes. And it held up through 5-6 track events, verified by oil analysis. Read this on bitog. Supposedly was from a member on here. Do a search.

Motul by all accounts is a fine oil and would serve your M3 well. Most here just prefer to stick with Mobil 1 as it is an excellent oil as well, inexpensive, and available at any local store.

Agreed. I used Motul X-cess 5w-40 in my 4.2L Audi for 90k miles and had perfect Blackstone reports during that time. Changed every 5k miles which was probably overkill, but hey, $100 every 6 months isn't going to kill me either. Cheap insurance.

Using Motol 15-50 with good results so far. No oil top offs between changes! Changing at 5k or 6months whichever comes first.

I just replaced my bearings so theres no drama in my UOA (ill post my next blackstone in the spring). I used the recommended 10-60 until I was out of warranty and my bearings were shot. The 15-50 motol is thinner than the recommended 10-60 wt oil at op temp. My car is garaged so never has a very cold start up(typically 70F in summer and 50F-60F in the winter). This weight and brand was recommended by my indy shop who have been using it for several years on Ms with no issues.
I think the additives in the Motol oils along with being ester based make them a good choice for the m3. Heres the data sheet if you are interested: https://www.motul.com/system/product...pdf?1329125523

The 300v is an impressive oil but searching the web, I find mixed reviews that its not an "extended use" oil. Some say its only for short intervals like 3-5k miles. I'd like something to go until 8-10k miles. I don't ave a problem with a 15w oil in the winter as I've run mobil 1 15w-50 in my old e36 M3 for close to 18 years with great OA reports. I know, different car, and all, but 15w doesn't scare me in the winter
