Focal under seat subwoofers

Has anyone tried these or heard and reviews on them?

Crutchfield sells these as well as a Focal plug/play system for the doors.

There's also something made by Helix called a "Match" system for BMWs too.

I saw them awhile back, but as it took so long for them to release I went with the mbs and do not regret them. And price.

The magnets look pretty small and the power rating isn't that high so I question how good they will be but at $400 each they must think they are pretty good.....

Yup, I have EPS on my car and just want a tiny bit more bass. I wish someone had tried them, everything I've heard from focal always sounds fantastic but like you guys mentioned they don't really look the part. So the question is what's the magic that's going on inside the driver? For $400 bucks they should be something pretty special, at least we'd all hope right?

Focal is (no doubt) one of the best speakers on the market !
This link (thread) is from my buddy and his Focal built and he's probably one of the best of the entire world also in terms of competion => http://www.audiogroupforum.com/csfor...ad.php?t=66958
If you have further questions about Focal I always can ask him for info...

Someone tried them on E90post and said they did sound good but they did not put out enough bass and still needed a dedicated subwoofer in the trunk for balanced sound. (They are more for mid bass sadly)

Will this require additional amp? I'm assuming the e90post member didn't have the Enhanced dirac audio like in the M3.

My situation exactly - I have EPS, but would like a bit more bass punch - BUT I really want to keep it looking OEM and low profile.
What are people recommending for this?

I have the EPS system as well and had the same issues/concerns. I ended up going with the Musicar Full-Bass upgrade package a few weeks ago. I installed the package myself with zero issues. I'm absolutely pleased with the results! I'm sure there are cheaper options, but this set-up gave me the results I wanted without butchering the car and it looks stock.

How much did it cost including installation if you don't mind me asking?

The cost of the package was $1095 with a $100 November discount. Musicar did their homework on this one. I did the installation myself, everything needed was included, it was very straight forward. They also provide an integrated harness, so no cutting or splicing is needed. The color of custom enclosure matches the trunk interior perfectly, fitment is dead on. If you have basic car stereo installation knowledge, it will be a piece of cake.

Did you have the EPS version or the Logic 7 / HK system as stock? Upgrading the EPS version is much more expensive.

Slammo -

Is it significantly better than the stock sound? Specifically in bass, sound clarity and volume?

Thanks so much

Define "much more"? "For E92 with 752 EPS Enhanced Premium Sound or Dirac Individual Audio, please add $150 for the required high-voltage interface module and kitting required."

The real cost is if you want to add the subwoofer in the trunk AND add upgraded sub-seat woofers for mid-bass, which will run you $1850 for the whole shebang.

My question would be, how much does the trunk sub weigh?
