Anyone Try Spotify on the iDrive Yet?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I have. I don't really like it. It's mighty slow and you can't search for items you don't have on your playlists. I guess it's not terrible but I preferred it not integrated.

It works well in the sense that you can save the music you like and album art is shown on the idrive etc but it sucks because you really can't use your phone if you want Spotify to continue playing.
On the other hand does anyone know how to play this through bluetooth audio with IOs8. I'm having a difficult time getting that to work.

Anyone care to share steps of how they got it to work? I have BMW Apps and Connected Drive, but the car never recognizes the phone. Might be an issue with Android, but I'd be curious how others have gotten it to work.

I tried it with the BF's iPhone and got it to work. I wanted to get a cheap iOS device to leave in the armrest, but found that the music won't resume automatically after the car has been off for a while. I had to unlock the screen of the iPhone for it to recover. If I have to do that every time, it's annoying. Having album art and steering wheel controls was nice. Can't get those with Bluetooth streaming on my Android phone. Controls only work one out of 5 times. |
