08 with I-drive, no usb?

I've searched and searched and have a feeling I'm out of luck but just wanted to double check.

I have a 08 E90 M3 with I-drive but I don't seem to have a USB connection in the glove compartment box or in the center console. The sole connection I have is "Aux in". It does work with my Iphone when I hook it up via the aux connection but I'd like to use a usb drive if I can.

Is there something I'm missing or am I out of luck? Not quite sure what you get with what packages, etc and I wasn't able to find any definitive answers via search.

Your car wasn't ordered with the 6FL option. I'm pretty sure you can retrofit it. That will give you the center console USB. The '08 M3 never came with the glove box USB.

As did my '08, I was just explaining why his lacked the center console USB.

I am in the same situation. I called a couple of dealers and they told me the retro fit kit is no longer available. You get an ipod connection for the glove box but I am looking to control the ipod/iphone from the idrive. I believe it is available in europe but for some reason not here. I am looking for other options but appear to be equally difficult. If you find something first, let me know

All you have to do is buy a mulf2. That will get you usb audio and Bluetooth phone.
