A question about washing the M3

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but..

The 2 air intake holes (I think thats what they are, or are they for cooling?) on either side of the powerdome on the bonnet, do they have to be sealed before washing the car?

Thanks for the info.

It is not necessary to cover the vents.

One is a dummy anyway.

And the one that is functional is an intake, not a vent.

actually it's a discharge...it relieves the pressure from the airbox and promotes flow thru it...so that way if the throttles are open/closed the additional/excess air is either diverted from escaping or allowed to flow out...

it's a slick design...the e46 m3 is similar...
