Blown Speaker???

I just picked up a 2008 with i drive and premium audio. The rear driver side speakers are "tinny" and sounds like static. I tried to listen to identify which of the two speakers might be the cause and sounds like both. Not sure if it is just me but the rear shelf speaker also sounds back,

Could it be all three or possible it is a connection to the speakers causing it.

I am about the replace the rear two speakers but wanted to feedback before attempting.

Is there a good DYI on replacing speakers??
THanks

Adjust the fade and balance and see if you can pinpoint which speakers are bad, exactly.

Could be a blown speak but if it's multiple speakers, I would suspect the amp is not working properly. After a lot of hassling and haggling, I finally convinced the dealer that my passenger side sub and door speakers were not getting proper signaln nor power. They replaced the amp under warranty and the stereo is pretty damn good now.

I brought the car into the dealer and we found both rear speakers had the "tinny" static sound. The dealer told me they "updated" the software (without much explanation, I suspect the service advisor was clueless). The problem went away but two days later is it back. The volume is also lower than when I brought it in.

The service advisor told me to come in and discuss with the service advisor. I feel like I am wasting my time. If the amp was bad, why would the "software update" cause the problem to go away.

Any ideas???
