The most stupid thing I have ever done is that I decided to change my tires at local Toyota dealership where I take my wife's car for service as I'm too lazy to work on anything else myself other than M-car and I was too lazy to drive 40 minutes to nearest Bmw dealership. I put 2 big sticky notes inside the car and on tires stating which ones go front and back as they are different sizes. Guess what... they messed up one side of the car so they went and redid it. After about an hour waiting I decided to go take a walk and looks at cars around. What I saw next is my M3 going through a turn squeaking tires and the guy trying to power-slide. I gradually follow that fat dude into the service and he was so proud how the car turns and how he was able to "drift" a little bit (He was describing it in details with big smile to one of service advisors with me standing behind them). This was the moment of me losing myself and I got very very pissed... No compensation from the dealership whatsoever...

Mine is more like a best and worst...taught my daughter how to drive a 6 speed in my M, I swear she took 15,000 km's off the life of the clutch. The best part of this is teaching a 16 y/o a life skill like driving stick. Now she can drive the M like a champ and impresses all the guys with my car - lol. Side bar also is she doesn't have "as much" time to check her phone which she swears she doesn't do but I have my doubts. Automatics leave more time for phone checking with a 16 y/o behind the wheel.

The most stupid thing I have ever done is that I hit my car's rear windshield at night. So called Black Friday.

A few months ago, I put the front of car on rhino ramps and jacked the rear with a 3 ton floor jack to get the whole thing in the air. As I'm jacking the rear, I didn't realize the car is being pulled back by the jack. The front eventually reaches the incline of the ramps and down she starts rolling, like a roller coaster coming down from the top of its climb! I'm behind the car as its catching speed rolling down, shitting my pants trying to push back on it thinking "How am I going to get this thing to stop?!?!"

As its rolling, the rear is in the air suspended by the jack and goes about ~5-10' before the jack wheels get caught at a concrete expansion joint in the driveway. She stops and doesn't budge from the jack. I look around it, no damage and she rests no differently than had I simply jacked the rear. I lowered it back to the floor in complete awe and had to sit there and reflect on my life! That could have easily been a terrible outcome in many ways.

If there really is a God, he played a heavy hand in those moments.

Lesson learned: Floor jacks pull on cars as they lift and go through their range of motion!!!

To quote the YouTube post "the front tires of the BMW M3 hit gravel and lost grip". Staying in his lane probably could have avoided that.

Wonder why M never offered X drive. I'm sure Audi fans out there would probably say their RS with quattro would have saved their car from slipping.

Less than a month into ownership of my car I was driving through some side streets with lots of speed bumps (school zone). Naturally I was crawling over every speed bump, but some car was tailgating me. So after getting over the last speed bump I wanted to hit the throttle hard and take off, but I was not used to the power and throttle yet so ended up “bucking/jerking” the car till I let off the throttle. Ended up driving off normally and saw the person behind me smiling

First 6 months of ownership I dragged the front end over a high curb stop taking my mom to Starbucks in the M when she visited me. This was while i was still getting accustomed to how low the car is. That SUCKED. I did an insurance claim on it (big mistake!) and the damage to the front bumper and under carriage was over 2000 dollars parts and labor. Dumb, really, really dumb.

Parked my car in my designated parking spot to where it got hit overnight. Would have been safer parked away under a tree.

Your pics confirm that the front fenders are plastic! WTF!

I wondered this as I was detailing my car and noted how the front fenders didn't sound the same and flexed a bit.

I know it saves weight, but plastic is cheap. It's at the Saturn level.

Because AWD adds mass (something the M3 does not need more of) and degrades steering feel.

Go buy the new M5 if you want awd. Don't tempt them into soiling the M3 with that garbage.

Driving to Disney World from NJ in Feb in 2015. Caught in a moderate snow storm after crossing into MD coming back up. All while riding on Super Sports thinking I could make it up an inclined section on i95...never again

I believe its not 100% plastic but reinforced with it, and haha that was a dumb situation
