You want something classic that fits the right way - a Brooks Brothers tailor will fit to you properly - you may not like the fit because here in America, we dont know how to where clothes - this isnt up for debate - its fact.
You get a great suit thatll last forever for under a grand.
Now go to BB and get dressed....
not sure how much of a BB patron you are these days, but they've come out with new slimmer/Europan fits over the last couple years - both in suits and shirts. Most recently, they hired Thom Browne to do their most expensive line...$3K for a suit

You're right about the American view towards style.....except for the last 3 years, Americans were stuck in the 90's with oversized, ill-fitting, & baggy Hilfiger & Polo gear!

Going to the best tailor around in Boston tomorrow. I'm gonna bring the Boss suit I just bought. He has also put aside two suits that he recommends. EIther way, I will walk away with the Boss suit tailored or one of his suits tailored. Cheers! Thanks for all the opinions guys

Hey man. You have to check out Giblees in Danvers/Peabody. They treat you like gold in there, and will put together the best suit for you.

without a doubt, you can get a 5K suit at BB, if you want. ive just never been interested - but yes, i am aware that the higher end is very much available - on Newbury St, i seem to always get a great couple suits for under 1K each, w/ a great, proper fit....
and w/o question - the finest selection of ties you will find anywhere - i love BB ties - again - i cant wear anything else ....
its like going from a BMW to a Camry.... you get spoiled....
