it does, all the places it says police hide.. are acurate at least around here..

obviously if everybody uses it, it will work better especially on a drive where 100;s of cars are all going to same place. it will be current and real time.

worked good for me so.. i dunno

Im with you on this. The majority of "pull overs" are not from speed traps, but rather than police cruising on the highway or every now and then hiding in my opinion. But rarely from a full on speed trap. And when they have a full trap, my V1 goes crazy from the 4 police cars sitting there.

Nice that your looking out for people- but i would look to much into it/trust it.

cops dont have "designated" traps....dont see how it'll be useful unless they sit there ALL the time.

i do it all over

that makes sense of course,
by "designated" i meant those trailers that get parked, vans that are parked or sign mounted radar.

the way its subposed to work is while an officer is temporarily stationary running radar (or not).. all the motorist has to do it touch the screen and that instantly "broadcasts" the location to all other phones in the area on their gps maps where the office was last seen.

as more people "confirm" the sighting. it raises the priority... obviously its better for the mobile radar/ photo units that typicaly stay in one area for awhile..

the other dependable way is smokey and the bandit style.. only using 2 way radios instead of that CB crap lol

front car would have a radio and one at the tail to act as pace setters

i'm sure there are a few of those threads around.. I think of them as "income preserver" devices.. we know these do not work Most of the time and a smart officer knows how to pinch a person with all the laws, tools, personnel, and P.C. at his disposal.

here we just passed a new law "no cell, or texting while driving" (thank god on the texting part) its now a Primary violation, like no seat belts.

obviously everybody knows a officers opinion on all these devices... I dont want to go off topic any more than i have.. just want to go fast--safely

I've got it and as long as people participate, it works fantastic!
It's not a replacement for a radar detector, but works as an aid to it.
PLUS, it's free, download it and try it out.

For those who don't want to mess with their phone (or don't have 3g) You can get this instead: http://www.speedcheetah.com/

The database updates more often than any other GPS Traffic cam/speed tram detector.

Not sure how anything can be called a "speed trap" when the speed limits are clearly posted. It's your decision to break it.

Every one and their Grandma knows that certain areas have artificially low speed limits. So yes, that would be a speed trap.

Artificially low speed limits? If you follow the posted speed signs as you drive along then you would be fine. Like g2artist said, it's not a trap if the speed is posted.

if you think traffic backups, and stalls are bad now, imagine if everybody followed the speed limit signs to the letter of the law.... Backups everywhere and all the time, US cars would not need to be built to go over 70mph, driving wouldnt be as fun anymore

I have found it usefull when I'm traveling in an area not known to me.
It would be even more precise if everyone turned on the app, and reported live traps on the road.
