But i learned to leave no valuables in my cars. I had an underground parking garage at my old apartment complex. One day I get into my shitty old Jetta and realize that the faceplate from the stereo is missing, but nothing else looks suspicious. I did take the faceplate off from time to time, but I could swear that I did not remove it the night before. Went back upstairs. Looked everywhere but could not find it. Looked all over the car. Not there. So i drove to work all puzzled. Half way to the office I realized that there are a bunch of palm prints on my passenger window. Motherfuckers pushed the window down, reached in, stole the faceplate and pushed the window back up. Apparently doors and windows on VW's are operated by an air pump located in the trunk, so they are really easy to open with your bare hands.
