1 Series HDR
I posted some photos of my car on 1 Addict, but wanted to share some of the HDR versions over here. As you can see, one of my biggest problems when shooting cars is not getting the aperture right. I want to get the car fully in focus without the background. What do you guys usually do? Preview the images at 100% and then adjust? I guess I'm just lazy.

These are beautiful!! How do you do your HDRs? Mine always come out with the "overdone" look.
And I always find anything above f/4 to be just perfect for cars. Example: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jsitthi/3400762838/ Most of the time when I'm shooting events, I don't worry about aperture all that much. It's usually just luck through trial and error. |

Yes I use Photomatix, but single-file conversions instead of the traditional HDR, primarily because I don't do proper photoshoots, but instead, events and car meets.
Desaturating seems like a good idea for HDRs since that's what many people complain about in an overdone HDR photo. Thanks for the tip! |

Great HDR pics.
What lenses did you use, looks like a fisheye lens?

radiant,
would you mind taking some shots of your car at a similar angle and focal length (about 35mm) of the photo in my sig? i want to shop your black wheels on my car. i think the GTS-R's in grey would look good if they're as much darker than space grey as i think they are. but i also want to see what the blacks look like. cheers if you can!

Yea I usually shoot HDRs at 100 iso on a tripod. The only time it becomes a problem is when there's a lot of background movement.
