Talking Canon EOS 50D is out...15MP

http://web.canon.jp/imaging/eosd/eos50d/index.html

http://www.dpreview.com/previews/canoneos50d/

I got 40D 3 months ago. Got some nice glass too. 70-200 f4L, 24-105 f4L and 50 1.4.

Looks like I'll be upgrading to 50D or 5DII when it comes out at Photokina.

Yes, I am a gearhead.

Canon also launched a new lens, a new EF-S 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 IS

That if Canon will introduce a 5DII.. the old one has three years

If you look at the specs I wouldn't be surprised if they update the 1D and let the 5D die..

The 50D has 15 Mpix, so how many will buy a 1DS when the 5D combines a 15-20 Mpix sensor with similar update as the 50D ??

They manoeuvred themselves in a difficult position..

If it doesn't come at Photokina, I think it is better to forget it..

I am liking the idea of that 18-200mm IS lens, but I wonder if it's going to be worth the price premium over the Sigma 18-200 OS...

Sigma was my first choice. I decided to invest in some L glass based on reviews.
Never regreted it. Image quality is superb.

Hey guys,

I am no photo expert but I have a 20D....do you think it is worth it to upgrade to the 50D?

I want to use my SD cards and I think I have a 18-55 lens (with the gold bar)..... Could I reuse this lens?

Sorry, I just like a good SLR and still learning.
