"Gazzetta: McLaren is preparing a radical change in the concept of the 2025 car
The McLaren team is preparing a radical change in the design of its 2025 car. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the team will integrate concepts aimed at the 2026 regulations into the new car, which could give them a significant advantage.
After winning the Constructors' Championship in 2024, McLaren does not intend to stop. In Woking, they are ready to take risks with design and technical solutions, which is confirmed by the words of McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown.
Speaking about preparations for the new season, the American noted that the team's philosophy has changed: “Previously, our goal was to get closer to the leaders, but now the attitude is different: we want to beat everyone. We have something in next year's car that can be called a bold risk. The team no longer wants to just refine last year's car - we are ready to take decisive steps."
According to Gazzetta, technical director Rob Marshall confirmed that McLaren is actively working on solutions that will be relevant in 2026. With upcoming changes to aerodynamics, power units and suspension, the team is hoping to adapt to the new regulations early.
The article, however, notes that some teams are thinking along the same lines. Ferrari is also making major changes to its car, including an innovative front suspension."

I would hard say Ferrari's front suspension change is innovative!!!

That change has been needed for YEARS!!!

Just watched a vid there ^ of LEW being welcomed by tifosi fans at a testing track showing off his new teams' garments.
I'm looking forward to pics of LEW similar to when Charlie was greeted from the top by the hungry Lion who just wanted to say hello but got a little carried away

My prediction is that McLaren will be fastest all year. They just seem to be in that phase of development that they really understand their car.
However, 2024 taught us that seasons favorites can change within a month.

What I'm looking more foreward to, is how drivers within teams are gonna compete. So Hamilton/Leclerc, and also Norris/Piastri and maybe even Russel/Antonelli.
At both Ferrari and McLaren, I think both drivers realise that they have to compete from the getgo with eachother, to establish who gets the preferred treatment when push comes to shove. We've seen in 2024 that things can turn around very quickly, and that at some point decisions have to be made in order to compete for WDC. WDC is still the big price sponsorship and media wise.
I mean, who still talks about 2021 right? Mercedes won the WCC. No fan outside the Max camp ever finds peace&solitude in thàt....
If the WCC had any significance, AD2021 wouldn't be an existing abbreviation on the interwebs..

So my expectation is that either NOR or PIA is gonna be WDC (and I think that decision is gonna happen within the first 5 races), and that there'll be a very heavy battle for 2nd.

If they get it right it will make A difference. Some drivers including Kimi hate pushrod suspension. Don't know how Charlie feels about it but HAM had it at MB. Thinking RB is also pull rod? One wouldn't think drivers could tell a difference but they can.

Everything is in play and I predict McLaren won't be the fastest this year, don't ask me why, it's just my gut feeling but I think they will win constructors again only.

RBR will in all probability continue with the pull rod front and push rod rear.
