Overall though, that was a pretty boring race, even in the mid-field. I still don't know how max fans get excited to watch races...
The fact that RB was able to go that long on softs without losing anything, and on that surface nonetheless, is quite crazy. Sai kept thinking Per tires would drop off and they never did.

I honestly find watching greatness in Max very interesting. To me he is easily the best since Sch without a doubt in terms of overall talent. It's like when I was maybe early teens, watching Jordan play or the likes. Just a next level talent from all angles.

The source is the "very interesting" Dutch article => https://gp33.nl/f1-nieuws/ferrari-de...olgens-de-data

As you can read ....
Everyone is saying they think they'll be close, and if Ferrari think they have halved the gap, they surely must not be considering Max's was not pushing at all, and forgetting they lost 10 seconds in 10 laps to Max early in the race.

Yeah . MAX pushed hard in the first 10 laps .
He knew Charlie would get DRS in lap 2 by the new FIA DRS regulations .

To get the fatest lap he pushed too and the rest of the race he was saving tyres and bring it home...

Charlie is usually better at street tracks than MAX .
And Charlie will be very fast in QF (as usual)!

BTW : As you know , overtaking at the Jeddah track is a disaster !

But I fear the Ferrari things !

Tire wear seemed much better on the Ferrari. Hopefully the suspension is more sorted now.

But it looks like the softs last forever at the RB20....

I like watching Max in Quali because there's often a lot of back and forth and he doesn't always take pole. But for the race, if I didn't have others that I was interested in cheering for I'd find it pretty boring.

I'm impressed with the overall greatness that is Max, but just watching him lead the back by 10+ seconds for an hour and a half isn't super entertaining... I'm more interested in watching the positions that are actually being fought for. Like in Brazil last season where they cut away from the Per/Alo battle to show max cross the finish line. It was honestly frustrating to have to watch that when there was an epic battle going on. Max won. We all know it. Congrats, but back to the show. Maybe some day Max will have to fight for his wins.

I don't think they are at all. At best, I think they are in the same deficit a last year. .6-.9 depending on the track...and in reality more since Max has rarely shown it's true pace. Meanwhile, the RB20 seems to be even better on tire wear and will have actual upgrades this year.

Valid points for sure. He is def next level, and the fact that F1 is the most competitive, narrowest field ever says a lot. And of course, when your car doesn't have 80-100 more hp than everyone else the driver is the one accounting for the gaps so I commend that he can get to a lead so well.

The battles behind look like they could be as good this year as last.

In public he's fine so it seems and he's used to getting what he wants but lately he's losing it all.

Talking about films I didn't see the first hour of Ferrari yesterday so catching up on it now
