Cleaning Live Cockpit Pro screen

guys looks like a got a somewhat permanent smudge/stain on my dash screen on my '21 X5. Anyone have any luck cleaning this off?

A good quality glass cleaner on a clean microfiber. Gentle wiping.

Meguiar's Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner.

I usually start with a lens alcohol wipe to get the crud off then hit it with a LITTLE glass cleaner on a microfiber and wipe dry.

Just use a clean microfiber towel with no tags on it. One mist of water on the towel after folding down to 1/4 size. Then wipe the screen. Most chemicals leave a haze that can been seen in direct sunlight.

I'd recommend a small amount of glass cleaner on a towel to make it slightly damp and then go back over it with a clean glass microfibre dampened with a bit of water. The water gets rid of any residues left behind by the glass cleaner and the glass cleaner will tackle the oils from the fingerprint type mark.

A light mist of water (be sparing) has worked best for me on the X5, and if it doesn't fully remove it on the first pass, just repeat the process. It's the only way to clean without leaving residue or streaks.

I typically use Maguiars Intetrior Detail Spray on screens and instrument clusters (shake well, spray a small amount on a microfiber towel, wipe gently, then use a dry portion of the towel to wipe off any excess). Works great.

This is what scared me on my 6MT. After taking delivery, I installed a tempered glass screen protector on both the iDrive and gauge cluster. I can be as rough as I want now when wiping it down. I recommend you do the same once you clean it up!

Start with a tag less microfiber and a spritz of water first and lightly rub.

If that doesn’t work, try a rinseless car wash diluted to the rinseless concentration next. Step up to the waterless concentration next (if you need it). One of those three should work and not damage the screen.

I wouldn’t use glass cleaners as many have alcohol and it can dry out the plastic screen.
