My GF took me to see it Friday night. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Great characters, great car action. Matt Damon gets Shelby's voice perfect. Christian Bale is brilliant as Ken Miles. The scene where Shelby takes Henry Ford II for a ride in the GT40 is priceless.

If you have about a half hour to kill this morning then get a cup of coffee and check this out.

The best sports movies are more than just about the sport itself, but about character. This movie, to me, nailed both. I hesitate to compare it to The Art Of Racing In The Rain since they are totally different movies, but it's hard not to being a car enthusiast. Ford v Ferrari delivers where Art Of Racing didn't. Both the actual racing and car scenes and characters are much more engaging here. Ford v Ferrari touched on the more technical details of racing a bit more, but still threw in some creative license to keep the racing scenes exciting for the audience. Art of Racing got a few details but avoided racing as much as it could. Overall I loved the movie. I think it's up there with Rush and probably succeeds to be a bit better in terms of the acting and racing sequences. Ford v Ferrari does dip into the politics of the Ford Ferrari merger and the operating a team racing team, which might not be as popcorn friendly as Rush. Rush is a little more accessible and that might be a factor for some of us.

Not sure about the guys in America, but Netflix just released "The 24 Hour War" in Canada which is the documentary side of this. Very well done as well.

The film seemed more about the characters of Ken Miles & Carroll Shelby than anything else. The Ford MoCo were portrayed as bad guys, constantly interfering where they had no business being.

Movie was awesome. Despite knowing how it ends, they did a fantastic job of telling the story that got it there. My only gripe was how long it was, 2 hours & 32 min!. I saw it in IMAX 2D which I highly recommend for the auditory experience.
Also going to leave this here: http://www.historyvshollywood.com/re...ord-v-ferrari/ I agree, I wouldn't be surprised to see him win Best Supporting Actor. He absolutely killed it in that role!

If the movie was that awesome (and it was), how can you gripe about its length?

I don't have an issue with its length as it relates to the cinematics, I just don't like sitting in a theater for 2.5 hours!
