i'm definitely doing this again. They also give you a $1000 UDE coupon for cars on the lot generally so its worthwhile to go just to get that email if you are in the market fora . new car

M8 coupe won't be released nor part of the UDE for 2019: Have a little more than 12 months until ED decision time to coincide with Oktoberfest, 2020 M4 vert full on Manufakutor Individual or M8 coupé/vert. I know 1st world problems. Will probably pay the $1,200 for 4 hrs of personal training at the Performance Center once the M8 is released, rather than hold my breath for a UDE, as Greer, SC is closer than Atlanta for either a M track day or UDE.

These are always fun events.. The events are paid for/hosted by local dealers that get together. Looks like there is a UDE OT event in been in Dallas but no event in Houston this year.. it appears that the weeklong UDE events also include the M Car Control Clinic , X drive experience, and Teen driving clinics.. as opposed to the shorter UDE OT events. |

Used to be lol
Already signed up for UDE near me. M track days site not updated yet. Been the Monticello Track twice and Lime Rock once. Hoping for new choice this year. Will be my 5th year straight of UDE. Did M Car Control Clinic in 2014 and thought that's the kind of classes Driver's Ed should be. People have a really really really hard time beliving besides the Control Clinc, it is 100% free. The first word out my mouth is Free and constantly get back "I don't have money" responses. :/

Did DC last year... got some swag and 20% off any M school that I combined with a coupon for a great deal. Doing DC this year, just confirmed it.

Let's not forget that they pack 4 people into the car for the autocross. Not my idea of fun. Do M track days....much better and in a car suited for the event.

It's having 4 people in the car while I do autocross that I find unappealing....

I cheated on my autocross back in 2015 with a 228i M sport by selecting Sport Plus when the instructor wasn’t looking. I had the best times in our group and still have the tiny blue cone as a reward but it’s very dusty

Are you sure they are giving out the 1k voucher? Last I heard, they stopped doing that. I’m contemplating picking up an F90 comp so I would not mind rolling down to Miami to sign in and get the voucher.

If you are a frequent M buyer, you likely will get the email immediately when the registration opens. If you are on your first M, it is hit or miss if you will get the email. I’m part of the Florida group that gets the emails, but my buddy who got his first M in 2017 did not get the email. Down here, the registration fills up in a few hours because a ton of us down here are M people. At my last M track days, everyone that showed up was rolling in an M or a Tesla Model S P100D.

Just did the DC event today at FedEx. BMW really scaled down the event this year over last year. There were only two tents put up: registration and to sign up for test drives. Of course there were tents for each of the autocross tracks. But they didn't put up that temporary building they did last year which had a nice showroom and classroom inside. No refreshments either. They also only had porta-johns there instead of the mobile restroom they had last year.
Swag was also light this year. No Swell bottles. They handed out white BMW caps. Things may be different at the bigger event stops where they're doing the M Car Control Clinic and teen driving. Oh and we were witnesses to some nice public display of stupidity. A Dodge Charger comes roaring down one of the feeder roads alongside the event area. Gets to the road that circles the stadium and does a weak attempt at trying to drift the car. I thought I was going to see a Mustang imitation. Then the idiots roll into the parking lot where they were met by two of the event staff people. I wasn't close enough to hear what was being said. But the staff was talking to the fools in the car for a few minutes. I left the event about 15 minutes after this idiotic display and noticed the Charger wasn't parked in the parking lot. I can only assume the staff told them to get out....reservation be damned. |
