What's the verdict? Yay or Nay?
I personally wont notice a difference between them and my iPhone X (with the exception of the larger screen size on the boulder model) so I'm not upgrading this time around.

i have a 7 that i bought on launch, and it's getting old. at least the battery is.
upgrading though I have my doubts, i don't feel like dropping $1k on a phone (Xs), and the Xr is a larger phone even though it is cheaper; i dont like big phones basically at this point i dont think i'll upgrade, and if i do i'll have to suck up the price tag and get the "smaller" and better Xs... |

I have a 6s, still going strong. Should I get an 8, and Xr or and Xs?

I just had my battery replaced (it's 29 bucks if you don't have Apple care, free if you do), and my screen replaced as well (Apple care). I'm good for at least another year. Voted No. probably iPhone 11 or whatever name they choose next fall. |

I need to do the same. My 6s qualifies for a free battery replacement, but they will make me change the cracked screen first.

I suppose I could also get a battery replacement under Apple Care and wait to see what next year brings. |

Same shit different year. Going from 6 to 7 to 8 didnt make any difference to me besides price tag and a different number...Every phone upgrade I get excited and then realize its the same thing as my last one.

this is what im going to do i think, for some reason (i suspect its the battery) the phone got extremely sluggish to use, skipping songs on spotify takes a while even.

Im in the same boat. Been using a regular 6S since 2015. Skipped last few generations because I felt no need to upgrade. Had battery replaced as well and phone is running strong still. Thinking of getting the regular 5.8 Xs and pass the 6S to my mom. Xs Max too big and XR is basically the current X.

She can take better pictures. Her phone freezes and restarts a few times a day lol and the serial shows up as "not eligible for repair" of its board. Obviously a newer phone will have better camera and be a little faster. My point is: is it worth the purchase? If you're already buying a new phone, why not get one with a new screen/body, that will have all of the other aforementioned benefits for a little more? That's why I said it's not worth it to go from a 6S to an 8. |

I have an S9 for work and have to admit it's phenomenal. Miles ahead of my iPhone X.

I think we are very limited with what can really be done on a phone anymore... there is so much innovation that can come from this particular device.
I think a faster processor and better battery are always a welcome change, but for anyone that bought a X; this particular update changes nothing. I think the biggest change that will come to phones will be 5G and that won't happen for years. |

Same here!! love my SE, I cannot stand these humongous size phones anymore. It goes against all technology where everything should be getting smaller...was really hoping for a same size to do the upgrade.

Same thought. If I didn't have the X I would definitely upgrade though, love my X.
