Apple iPhone X- Buy or wait

Well as always, the boys at the apple store do not know anything about the release, the phone, configurations etc etc... the disconnect between corporate and retail at apple is huge... i don't know if purposely or whatever other reason this exists

They can't say that much about a the X until it is actually out. They are trying to avoid making a claim that is untrue, not because of lack of knowledge, but because of last minute changes that corporate might make from now until the X is actually released.

Do you think corporate would make a change in the last week lol? They can't answer a single question on the launch, availability etc... Also, why doesn't the actual fucking store get the phones on display a week early so that people can see what they are actually buying? They literally get the phone on NOV 3 when its' available to order OCT 27.

Can you even imagine the chaos inside all Apples stores if they did brought a few to each store?

Then why is it different with the phone? It's a phone, it's a known commodity you don't need to hold it and there's likely nothing you'd learn in the store that would sway you one way or the other. If you have to have it first, you'll have to deal with some shenanigans.

You're getting the X for the design, OLED screen, smaller form factor than the iPhone 8 plus yet largest screen, and the facial recognition tech. Plus, you'll be 10X cooler with the X.

I got to play around with a iPhone X last week. A friend of mine is an apple corporate employee. Since the phone is now announced, they can use it in public now. It is rather cool!

The lack of a home button is different but once you get used to swiping up to go home, you wonder why you need a home button at all. The size is good as well. Slightly longer than the iPhone 6/7 but nothing as large as the Plus phones. Side by side, it makes the older iphones look primitive.

He said production is limited by component shortages - mostly due to the facial recognition system. No one else uses it on any phone so the suppliers can't ramp up production fast enough. They are anticipating wait times until next year.

I'm waiting until they come out with a larger version. Also, my thumbs hurt bad enough from trying to touch the edges of the screen in landscape mode on my current 7+. Getting rid of the buffer area on each side means I'll have to crunch up my thumbs even more. It's literally painful.


PS, "until next year" is only about 10 weeks, which is not that crazy for a new iphone.

I can see that being an issue in landscape.. I don't use landscape for typing. I usually use 1 finger in portrait mode. It's not very fast but I guess I'm just used to it.

Ummm no other device on the market has facial recognition as advanced as this. Not even close.


Watch how quickly android device manufacturers copy this. (not a bad thing).

Android users laughed and teased about the removal of the headphone jack, well isn't it funny how almost all big brand Android OEMs have dropped it now?

Both platforms copy eachother, which is a good thing.
