I hope it turns out nicely. Too bad the hood line will be in the wrong place, by looking at the prototypes.

Even with all the excitement, the cars in the pics we have basically seen already. What I really want to see is the new 5 series in production form. Otherwise nothing really new except with a few tweaks

That's an M4. The M4 and 4 Series LCI don't go into production until next year, and won't be revealed at the Paris show unfortunately.

intresting, looking forward to the X2 myself. If it's half as cool as a Evoque was/is, and twice as good looking as the F48, it should be half decent imo. Nice looking front, looks aggresive, as a BMW should imo.

The X2 is 'all new'.. I'm afraid the 5 won't be appearing at Paris! 😩

Yep, the evoque is still the best looking SUV on the market even 5 years on, although the f pace is pretty nice! Let's really hope they get this one 'right'

If the X2 is set up as a FWD model I'll be just showing myself the door. What would make it sweet would be a B58 X-Drive model. I'd cop that!

It'll be FWD in base models and Xdrive up the range, the B48 engine will be used, even in any possible X M240i (possible nomenclature!?) which is a good engine for a 4 pot! currently around 250 horses but could be tuned to 300+...

Fair enough. Still, the point remains. These date back to the 4 Series debut in 2013 when many models didn't have full LED tail lights yet. It will be rectified next year with the LCI. Some even think OLED, though it is not clear that will happen. Spy shots so far are not conclusive either way.

M40i and 40i are for B58-powered models. The new ~300hp B46 (or B48 - whichever it is) will make use of the M35i model name. Existing N55 six cylinder 35i models, which now include only the X3, X5 and X6 will soon be replaced and bumped to 40i in their next generation.

Sounds fair enough to me, in which case there may well be no X M140i as there are doubts over the company putting a straight six in a FWD design chassis (apparently)! So maybe an X M135i will appear later on!? But then who knows how BMW's nomenclature may pan out... at one time 320 meant 2Ltr, 325 meant 2.5Ltr, 330 meant 3Ltr and so on but not any more. The badges now relate purely to output so would it be out of the question for a B48 tuned to 300bhp+ to be badged X M140i..?

In fact, there definitely will be no six cylinder UKL vehicles. So, that's right, no 40i models. However, we do know that both an X1 xDrive M35i and X2 xDrive M35i will be added at the top end of the range. An M135i xDrive sedan will also come too (to wherever the 1 Series sedan is being sold).

Finally, there does remain a chance for an even higher powered 4 cylinder engine later. One would presume this to power a future X1/X2 M. But this is entirely speculative and no known plans exist. It may be a generation from now before any UKL M vehicle exists (no doubt some think that's a good thing, and perhaps hope such products will never see the light of day).

My thoughts are that they won't share badges between the I4 and I6 (not including the 40e four cylinder hybrids). So a four cylinder 40i will likely exist only when the six cylinder moves to 45i (or somesuch).

ANE informed that i8 Spyder and i8 LCI will be here. Weird. They seldom disinform. We'll see tomorrow, I'll be at stand in Paris...
