I don't want to spend more than $2K. I don't watch TV much, maybe one show a night and a movie on the weekends. It's more for the wife.

It all depends how important tv is to you and your family, and if you can spot/appreciate a good quality picture. If you were looking to spend $900, I'd say pick up any LED off the floor, they're all the same these days. I don't think the plasma is a good buy. They're so unbelievably overpriced that you can just buy a killer OLED instead and get almost the same picture quality with all the modern glitz and glam.

Stay with brands that make quality product. Sony and Panasonic took a break for a while but they are back making the best quality product on the planet. Samsung and LG are still very respectable go-to's. Anything else is a huge pile. I'd rather have the worst Panasonic than the best Westinghouse.

Thank you for the Magnolia advice. The Sony just dropped to $1,599 so I am hoping the Samsung will also. I'll be watching SlickDeals...
