2013 College Football Season
So with opening weekend of the college football season ending what are you thoughts?
Who impressed you? Who disappointed you? What do you think of Johnny Football's antics?

As a texas a&m alum, I was on the Johnny Football train very early. It was enormously exciting to have that kind of player and season last year for what I've considered to be a second tier program (maybe not second tier in terms of quality of facility and the cash flow, but definitely in terms of results). After watching that game yesterday, I'm concerned. Seems like a lot of players have a bit too much attitude. if they back it up with their play, that's one thing, but they gave up a lot of points yesterday. I like how Sumlin is executing suspensions and demanding a better response from his players, but that Alabama game is looming large and will be the first time the defense is on the field together.

His attitude is 90% of what won him the heisman last year, but it doesnt reflect well on this huge stage (he made it 3/4 through the season last year before people really started taking his chances seriously). So it's either going to put him right back into the conversation or, as you say, slaughter him. |

I dont have one particular team i root for but i enjoy watching USC, Bama, and Oregon. In response to the whole Johnny Manziel thing, I think hes a total douche. The dude had one of the worst off seasons in recent memory and he comes in after being suspended the first half and becomes a bigger asshole. When you win a heisman trophy and everyones eyes are on you, you aren't just a college student. Im sure when he comes out for the NFL draft(if he does) scouts are going to be extremely skeptical on him because of all his selfishness and showboating. I just hope Bama absolutely destroys A&M this year

I've gotta support the Gators, I live in their town so it's pretty hard to avoid it. Used to get shit for my Black E46 with Red interior, I was accused of being a Georgia fan
They've never been as good since Tebow left though... who knows, here's to hoping we do better this year |

Sure enough but they were ranked pre-season and didn't really expect huskies to do much with them. Maybe they have fallen off some but were tough opponent even for real schools at times.

As a recent grad of Georgia Tech, I hope that they have a better season than last. I hope we can deviate more from the triple option and run more pass plays. This offense will never win championships and gain major recognition because it is so predictable. If well executed it is a great offense, but we are sporadic in our execution.
I watched the first half of the Florida State game, and wow. Their new QB is going to be tough to stop. Seems as though the ACC will be pretty decent this year with Clemson and FSU starting like they did. SEC will always be hard to stop, but from what I've seen, Bama has some growing to do after Saturday's game. I hope Johnny Football gets injured or suspended for the season. I hate to see players with egos as big as his. He had a great season last year, but it went to his head and it clearly shows. |

Agreed, FSU's QB looked great last night though I only got to watch parts of the game.
Not a fan of Johnny football either though I'd never wish anybody to get hurt... We (LSU) handled him last year and I'm looking forward to the Tigers humbling him again this year. The real fun will be to watch Alabama. Nick Saban doesn't like to lose and after last year the Tide will play with a huge chip on their shoulder.

No doubt Alabama will have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to playing A&M. They won't hold anything back. I really don't want to see a 3-peat champion. I want to see another powerhouse play in the championship, I've wanted to see Oregon there for the past few seasons. Though, if Alabama deserves to be there I will definitely be watching. |

Agreed on JF but coaches will tolerate a lot of $hit when it comes to their talent. Les Miles at LSU is no different...
Glad to see the Gamecocks doing well. Clowney is a beast, glad we don't play you guys this year...

I agree, I think it would be a better game than the Auburn-Oregon game of 2011. I just really want to see some different teams in the championship. I'm all for SEC teams, but since the BCS began (1998; 15 games) 9 games have been won by an SEC team. The one loss the SEC has was when LSU lost to Bama. Thats some pretty crazy stats, I hope the whole conference knocks them out of the championship (no one goes undefeated). That's really the only way I could see them not being in the championship.
