Successfully performed my first DE shave today with the same setup as above but added Noxema as a preshave and Thayer's witch hazel as an aftershave. Did 3 passes ... with the grain, cross grajn and against the grain. No cuts or irritations. Got to do better on the area directly beneath the nose. Used a cheap Omega boars hair brush ... it does stink but told the smell will go away in a week or two.
