planning to do this on my 335 when it gets a little warmer.
Please don't say buy the s5 if you wanted the led strips.. All these years, everyone immitates the angle eye of bmw. I really think everyone is going to do this led strip like the s5 this time around. ------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE.. it was a wopping 42 degrees outside so i thought this was going to be my only chance before spring for a trial fitment. Not perfectly straight but u guys can get the idea. I Think i need to get led strips that are more spaced out. Probably an inch for every led. Cant wait till spring so i can actually do it right. For a 10 minute job... this is pretty neat i think. Flame away guys...

Hell to the naw. I think it looks cheezy when other people copy BMW's corona rings. I think that Audi is going to make the LED strip their trademark... and it looks pretty hot on the s5 and the newer audis. That looks should stay on the Audis. Imagine if people started putting corona rings on their A4s... blech. My two cents anyway.

Where are you putting them, out of curiosity? If you're putting them in the actual headlights, it'll clash with the Angel Eyes, and it really won't look all that great. Some Audis have it below the headlights in the air dams, that doesn't look that bad, but not sure if it'll flow with an E92.

If you put it in the headlight housing for the 3 series it'll look way too cluttered. You're not hosting a concert in your headlight housings. I think it could look decent if you placed it in the air dams like near the fog lights like the A8. While I think the LED lights look great on the Audi's I can't say that I'd appreciate them on a BMW.
So my vote goes to the no camp. |

I have actually done it on my a3.. I just place a strip of led under there headlight. The space from the bumper and the bottom of the headlights.
With the bimmer, I want to put it on top, where the hood and the headights meets and than somehow disable the out ring. Kinda of like the 5 series with the blinker.(i think) MrBrett...they do have it on audis I have seen a couple in the audi forum and it doesn't look that bad. MBz is coming out with led strip in the headlight also if iZm not mistaking.

+1.
I think the OEM ones on the Audi A5/S5 work well because they're not just cosmetic. They're big & bright in a way that a small LED strip will never duplicate. In addition to that, it would look weird with the angel eyes - and even weirder if you disable those but leave them in. IMO. |

I'm not a fan of the LED DRLs. I think they look tacky. They remind me of the fake Christmas icicle lights that people having hanging from the gutters of their homes (frequently until March). Don't get them.

No. Every car has its signature. For Audi, its the LED eyeborws, for BMW, its the angel eyes. Dont screw it up.
