KW V1 or V3?
Not really sure what the difference is, other than V3s have more adjustability?
I'm not planning to track my car, just like driving fast on the road. - Matt |

v1s are plan jane height adjustable
v3s are dampening adj with height adjustable. my thoughts when I bought mine were ive had dampening adjustable coilovers and never touched them for stiffness. So i didnt spend the extra $$$ and bought v1s

I'm having this exact same internal struggle. Red Ghost, Im in the same boat. Love beating my wagon up in the twisties but have no intention on tracking the car. Probably have no desire to play with suspension after installed either. I'm leaning towards V1's as I just can't justify $2500 bucks for my needs.

I've gotten pms from different sales companies on these forums for under 2k shipped for the V3s but I think I'm gonna get the V1s because their cheaper. I just want them so I can lower my car a little bit, not really planning to do anything else after that either

Does anyone know what the labor costs to get these coilovers installed? Also are there any other upgrades that would be worthwhile to bundle in while getting the shop to install these?

you can get v3's for sub 2k from tiago@vrsf. pm him for a quote.
adjustable dampening isn't about being able to constantly change it, its about being able to fine tune it to what you want as opposed to 'this just how it is'. people forget this and use the fact that they dont think they'll adjust their suspension that often but its not about that. i love my v3's and i've been in cars with v1s and they are ok but nothing amazing. v1's if all you want is a drop. V1's is the minimum i'd put on any car i wanted to lower. lowering springs/shocks are out of the question. |

Love my V3's. Rebound and dampening is awesome for adjusting to the roads you drive in. I have a bunch if beat up roads I seem to travel on consistently and have tuned them over the last couple if months. They're perfect. But if I were to take a road trip up/down Hwy 1 or to Taboo etc I would tighten them up.
Nice to have ability to change the ride. They're rock solid build and a great way to really transform your car. |

jeffblue, Did you change out your stock endlinks to adjustable end links? Is this necessary when doing the KWV3 install? I'm just about to pull the trigger on this.

How hard is it to change the ride height on the v3's ? I'm thinking that for winter, I would probably want to raise my car back up for driving in the snow.

If you have access to a lift, really easy. If you have a shop, I doubt they'd even charge you. Takes like 10 minutes - so long as it's on a lift.

V3 = track ready. V1 will work for tracks, but don't need to spend the extra money if you just want to adjust the height.

You guys are doing yourself a disservice if you're not considering Fortune Auto 500 series coilovers.
Mine are a one off setup, after some conversations I had directly with Terry at FA. Terry owns an e91, and his customer service has been outstanding. He's worked with me to achieve exactly what I wanted. They are a boutique coilover, without paying an extravagant price. |

been running V1's for awhile - if I had to do it all over again, definitely V3 for the additional adjustments.

I live in a Chicago suburb and I was quoted $310 for installation and an alignment.

I would definitely pick the V3 over V1 as I am picky on how my car performs even if I don't track it often. I like having the precise tuning capability if I want to do it which I probably would.
