Replacement bumper on 14 328i
Looking to get a replacement bumper that looks more sporty on my wifes car. Is there a replacement bumper that will mount up directly or with minimal modification that I can buy for a reasonable price (less than $1k)?
Attached is a picture of the bumper currently on the car. Thank you for your help, Justin |

You can find replica M sport front bumpers for sub-$500 unpainted and a lot of them are OEM-fit. If you shop around, you can get the whole kit with front lip for an even sportier look for $1K unpainted.

There are quite a few parts to swap out for an M-sport conversion, and as dtn said, its 1k for the OEM unpainted parts (bumper, grills, ducts, supports, adapters, and all required installation parts.) Not sure if there are any more direct fit bumpers if you go after market.

Looks great! But why so expensive for just the front? I got my full kit for $800 and paint for $900 total. I installed myself but I think that only saved me a couple hundreds.

Yeah sure: http://tiny url.com/m7ldepc
But I offered them $800 picked up and they accepted. I borrowed a buddy's truck and drove 20 min to their warehouse and saved myself $200. |

LOL that's why you saved on both shipping and labor. I can assure you that you saved more than a couple hundred doing the labor yourself. The front bumper alone is about a 4-5hr job. Yes there are plenty of places on Ebay that sell the full kit for 999 (store I got mine from does as well), but the front was 474 with the splitter. Painting/labor was 600 which was on the higher side of the quotes I got, but I went to a shop that is known for working on exotics because I wanted to make sure the paint was done correctly and as close to factory as possible. Not just color but durability. So in all reality, 1000-1100 is the going rate for a quality rep with a quality shop doing it. Everything is as tight as the factory and lines up perfectly. |
