SAE 0W-30 with 5W-30 as an alternative.

crazy! I'm glad they went away from the incredibly expensive 10w60 oil, even at my cost it's still $14 a quart

I use to run Motul in my Bikes and could always feel a difference in smoother throttle and gear shifts(engine oil would lube the gearbox) I was wondering if anyone has tried it in their BMW cars?

0 is just referring to the cold weather viscosity! At operating temp 0w30 and 5w30 are the same. |

Not true considering there were still new M3's using the 10W60. The newer turbo M engines have been using 0w30 and 5w30. That is more accurate.

The difference is simply the FI engines vs. NA engines.
