RaceChips Pro2 group buy
Hey guys I got on this group buy over at DTMHaus. They needed 3 people but looks like all they need now is only 1 person to fulfill the group buy.
I believe the group buy is for a limited time only. http://dtmhaus.net/raprfor32.html PM me to receive the group buy pricing coupon code, pricing on the their website changed back to MSRP. Last edited by SF_E60; 06-09-2014 at 03:16 AM.. |

I'd be in on the group buy for my F31 328d wagon. Where do I sign up/purchase it? Thanks!
Edit: Just ordered one from the link in the OP Last edited by jordan34; 06-06-2014 at 12:42 AM.. |

Also was the install easy/DIY? Or will I need to take it into a shop? Can't wait to get it in...I've been pretty happy with he new diesel already(especially mileage) but could definitely use more power as I traded in a panamera for the diesel wagon.

The installation should take about 5-10min max. It's straight forward. There's a manual that's provided with step by step instructions. No need to take it to a shop.

Yes super easy install and really like the improved throttle response. I was going to ask the same question on settings as I just installed mine as is (B1 I assume but not sure as I didn't open it and didn't get the invoice with the initial setting?). Dtmhaus said E2 or E1 would be best? Anyone try tweeting the setting yet?

Yes so I finally confirmed with racechip and Dtmhaus that e0 is the correct initial setting. Dtmhaus suggested trying e1 and e2 but said some folks had gotten cel with e2. Racechip said that most people leave it with e0. Their recommended other settings are d1 and e2....I found it a little strange that d1 would be the next step up from reading the directions from the manual (I.e. S1 is %increase s2 is duration) but I saw some other posts where someone really liked d1 setting on their 328 diesel. So I might try that next just to see if I notice anything.
Any thoughts on gas mileage? Someone else thought their highway mpg went down (mine seems to have too as I struggled to get 40mpg even in Eco mode on a freeway trip this week) but their city mpg went up (my city has gone down though but I have been pretty much flooring it most of the time around town since I installed the chip so it's not a fair comparison!) |

There are a lot of things that come into play here, altitude, humidity, quality of diesel.
We have 20+ guys already running it on x5d's and not a single CEL in E/2. The one person that reported a CEL came back later and said it was for EGR, which happens on stock cars as well. I have been running E/2 and the car has slightly bigger gains than advertised and did not really notice any change in mpg since my foot has been planted to the floor after the tune.

I know this is an old thread... I am interested in the racechip pro2 and the price is decent...
However I am curious how the install is? I am completely new to the BMW arena my experience with cars were mostly simple oil change, stereo swap out and the sort. I know a number of folks said this is super easy, but anyone willing to explain in 'slight' details how that's done? s |

1. Open the hood.
2. Pull up on the engine cover from the front. When the front releases pull froward and set aside. 3. Pull up on the black foam cover to get access to the rail fuel pressure sensor. 4. Unclip the rail fuel pressure sensor electrical plug. 5. Plug in the Racechip wiring loom into the sensor plug, plug the other end into the sensor plug removed in step 4. 6. Plug the large connector into the Racechip module. 7. Mount the Racechip module in a convenient location using the included tie wraps. 8. Replace the engine cover sliding the rear in first and then pressing down on the front of the cover until it "latches". 9. Close the hood. 10. Drive the car and be amazed at the increase in torque and hp. |
