This is my first time owning a turbo car and earlier something strange happened.

I was driving about 50mph in DS mode and floored it WOT, RPMs jumped to around 6000 and acceleration was very slow at 50mph. Speed was increasing but very slow so I let foot off the gas and gave it throttle again and car pulled.

Usually the acceleration is very quick from 50mph at WOT in DS mode.

Not sure if it's transmission slip or just turbo lag. Any other 335i owners experience this or know what this is. No codes/lights on the dash and check is OK. Transmission is AT.

You probably hit the kick-down switch, a very annoying feature. But if you happen to downshift at 6k, you will not be making power at that rpm range, as that is where the n54 runs out of breath on stock turbos.

I did activate the kick down I was going about 55mph and RPM was around 3k I believe then it downshifted and RPM jumped to 6k but the speed was increasing very slow. Usually the speed increases faster.

Something I should add is this occurred after spirited driving for about 10 minutes with the car kick-downing about 5-6 times in a row before this happening. Maybe the car needed a break to build boost?
