Forge DV making flute-like noise

Hey guys, had a pair of forge dv sitting in the garage for over a year and decided to re-install onto my car. After installation, the car started making this flute-like noise whenever i accelerate. Just wondering if the DV needs some servicing/greasing since it has been sitting in my garage for some time or is it something else?

the noise comes in around the 4 second mark

it seems to make the noise as you start to build boost, maybe the noise is the piston closing? maybe it just needs a lil grease

Just go with it and get a custom plate: FLUTMAN

That aint right... Make sure it's clamped on tight first.

If the problem still persist take it off and inspect it.

yes, like another famous plate....

if you learn how to keep the rpms on and off of boost, you might be able to play a cool tune!

and make sure they are mounted with the forge logo's (on the top of the DV's) facing each other and not upwards.

Jeff,

Thanks for posting this maintenance DIY as the DVs are a out-of-sight item that we forget about.

I cleaned mine today and found some interesting things; My top cap o-rings were busted and one of my Forge DVs did not look to be work very much (clean and not a lot of wear like the other one).

Does Forge still sell o-rings for the 1st Gen DVs?
