Parking Problems

I live in a big neighborhood full of houses. We have sidewalks and such and MANY people park outside on the street next to the sidewalk (normal).

I received a notice that my car has been parked too long and has been labeled 'abandoned' even though it is right infront of my own house! Is it illegal to park for long periods of time infront of your own house?!

Pics if needed!

Move to the Eatside! We have plenty of parking spots here.

I get annoyed with the narrow streets over at Issaquah Highlands. WTF? I have to do a 3 point turn just to get out of my driveway in the mornings. I can't even imagine what it might be like to live/park in some Queen Anne neighborhoods where you can only park on one side and you still have to pull over to let opposing traffic squeeze by.

72 hour parking time limit in Seattle.

Sorry, you just can't park your car and leave it there without moving it every few days. Seattle is pretty generous, giving you 72 hours. Renton only gives you 24 hours before they consider it "abandoned." Of course, someone has to complain about, and since street parking isn't generally as hard to come by as in Seattle, it doesn't people too often.

I bet you have a jackass neighbor that is pissed your car is just sitting there and complained to the cops. I can't imagine a cop just driving by is going to really think a BMW has been abandoned.

That's what you get for buying a fancy car BEFORE you buy a house with a proper garage.

+1

I live in fremont area and when some a-hole parks his car for a week in front of my house I call it in and the city usually takes care of it.....

I've seen couple of 335 coupes parked outside on Seattle streets as well....

More power to you if you can sleep at night while a $50K is just sitting outside and getting rained, crapped on and bumped all the time when some F150 is trying to parallel park...

But overall, yes, there is a law and they can tow or ticket your car after 72hrs.

Renton is worse, only 24 hours before they consider it "abandoned."
