M performance exhaust and diffuser installed. Quick video.

Hi everyone, just got my M performance exhaust and diffuser painted and installed. Wow, what a world of a difference. Loving the sound and look. Next up, drop and wheels!

*** 5/23/15 update some new pics with H&R sports and M performance front lip on ***

Sorry for the dirty car and crappy vid quality. I'll post up a cold start video soon as well.

some misc photos:

pretty good! the exhaust is much pronounced in the lower rpms and I like how you can hear the burbles when you let off the gas.

Just had my MP Exhaust installed too. Sounds just like yours. Adds a *nice* angry note to the tone. Mine cost about $1100 for the unit, $200 for the tips. and about $250 for labor. You can buy it online cheaper and several of the folks here have installed it themselves. Sounds pretty easy. I just didn't have the time.

Any drone when driving?? I had Eisenmann Race Exhaust on E92 and GF hated the drone. It actually got a little too much for me as times as well.

So a lot louder in cabin or just a little?

Thanks!

Definitely louder in the cabin when you're accelerating. No drone at all on the during cruising/freeway though. During those times it pretty much sounds like stock.

I think the regular shop labor time is 2 hours but it can honestly be done in less than an hour.

I got the performance diffuser painted at Auto Fixed in Pleasanton. They do most of the work on our used cars so I know that he does a good job. Plus he's right across the street from my work. I wanted to clarify that he did not paint my original diffuser, just the M performance one. It comes primered.

I stopped by EB BMW when I was shopping for my M235i, although they didnt have one in stock, they had a 435i with a manual which is what I used to make my decision on going with the ZF8 speed. I was working with Matt Allen, and he let me take a spin in the M5 that was there.

Had they been a bit more flexible on price for a ED, I might have bought from there. Much better service than I got at the Stevens Creek dealer that I live right next to.

Once I actually pick up my M235i on 5/26 in Munich, and it finally gets shipped back state side, I'll definitely be looking to pick up the M Perf. Exhaust. If the price is right, maybe I'll come by the East Bay

can you take some video in comfort mode as well? and something thats a bit further away from the exhaust. all the videos so far seems to have the mic directly in front of the exhaust making it louder than it is

I really like the look of the rear diffusor to match the color of the body. Since I'm also getting the M performance exhaust. I was looking at getmybmwparts.com and they have this options, which one is the one that you acquire for your M235i.

They don't come painted unfortunately. You would have to buy the part and then go have a body shop paint match the part. This is was is holding me back from getting one as well once my car lands.

I do understand I need to have a body shop paint the diffusor, sorry if I was not clear. I just want to know which one of the choice I posted in the previous reply is the one that is shown on this thread because that is the look that I'm looking for.

Matt Allen is a cool guy, I'm glad he was able to provide some great service. I know the exact gray/red 435 you're talking about. FWIW, the 6spd in the 235 feels better than the 435.The throws are slightly shorter and a bit more solid/notchy. Let me know when you are ready for the exhaust, I can certainty get you a good price.

you just want the regular diffuser in that drop down menu if you're going with the exhaust. If you keep the stock exhaust the tips don't stick out enough so that's why you need the adapter.

If you find the pdf of mperf parts and pricing, at the very bottom it shows the options. MP exhaust can fit std diffuser or mp diffuser. The latter has tips that stick out further. If you are not getting the mp exhaust, you need an adapter for the stock exhaust tips to clear the mp diffuser, or they will sit too far in. The site says it bundles the adapter and chrome tips together, so you pay a bit extra, but if you get the mp exhaust, you see it has options for with or without diffuser.
