Injector Recall

Hey guys,

I have an 07 335i build date 9/06... knock on wood 94K no injector issues but just out of curiosity I called BMW NA to see if they had been replaced before I purchased the car. They said they had not been replaced under their records. I mentioned the recall and they said that according to my vin, there was no injector recall for my car, only other 335i's built later on.

Anyone know why? Not sure if I should be happy or not.

Im in the same situation (my car was born 9/2006)...Apparently our cars dont fall under the dates for the the recall and are short on love because it was only a specific model of the injectors that were known to have issues...The ones on our car aren't the affected ones...Let me know if any of the dealers are willing to replace your injectors bc I would love to have mine taken care of..

Buy them... It happens, who knows why we aren't under recall.. I have only had issues with 1 injector and I'm an 06 build. *knock on wood*

What kinds of issues did you guys have to warrant changing one injector? Just wondering how you guys diagnosed that the injector needed replacement...

In my case it started hesitating under load. Like a misfire. Lots of things can cause similar symptoms so the dealer had to read the codes to figure it out.

As for why certain builds aren't covered, my dealer said BMW went through 3 iterations of injectors in the 07-08. The first and third iterations they had recalls on and not the second. My guess is the second iteration (that we all must have that aren't under the recall) were better quality than the first and maybe they switched brands or something on the third iteration that caused problems. Just my guess

I'm a 03/07 build. The recall starts for 04/07 build, and BMW wouldn't cover my 6 injectors when my dme fried even though I was off by only one month.
