Codes 2A94 and 3100 This Morning
I was cruising at about 50 in 4th gear this morning on my way to work when all of a sudden I get a reduced power warning. I check the code with my Cobb AP and 2A94 (Crankshaft sensor, signal missing) and 3100 popped up.
The car was stuck in gear and wouldn't change to D from M mode. I came to a light, cleared the code and the 2A94 went away but the 3100 remains. Car drove fine but I didn't try to get on it at all. Any thoughts on what's causing these codes? First thing that comes to mind is the obvious which is a bad crankshaft sensor. |

Just had this happen to me. I got a transmission fault message as well as a reduced power engine malfunction message in iDrive. I was able to clear the 2A94 code right away. After turning the car off and locking it for a few minutes I was able to clear the 3100 code. Car seems fine now.
@JStang Where did you get the crankshaft sensor and did you install it yourself or take it somewhere?

Thanks for the reply, bud. I found a DIY and it looks pretty simple so I'll just order the part and replace it if it comes back.

You were right. Happened again this morning while driving to work. The iDrive went nuts with error messages. I ordered a new sensor and hope it gets here sooner than the shipping estimate.

Crankshaft sensor did the trick. Thanks! Just a tip, don't try to pull the sensor from the bottom, it's to hard to get the right angle.
