How to tell boost pressure?

I've got a handheld scanner (basic scanner from Autozone).

It reads codes and information such as IAT, coolant temp, engine speed, etc.

Can it also tell me boost pressure?

BMW dealer told me the car had a "low boost" stored code, but I can't get the code to come up on my scanner.

I also have ESS software if that matters. Can I use the ESS software to read codes?

If it can read all those things I would assume it would read boost pressure too. Did the dealer diagnose the problem? Sounds like a boost leak somewhere. Do you have wastegate rattle at all? The low boost code is sometime indicative of the wastegates being stuck open which means if you are under the 8 year/82k warranty you are entitled to new turbos regardless if you have a warranty or not.

I think the low boost code seems to be a bmw specific code in which you will need a code reader that reads bmw codes as well ( such as a Bavarian Technic, or other code readers)…

So I guess that is the other issue worth mentioning.

When I first got the car a year and 15,000 miles ago, I had the wastegate rattle.

About 6 months and 8,000 miles ago, I had the turbo's replaced under factory warranty.

But now the wastegate rattle is back. It's not as bad as it was before the turbos were replaced, but it's still there.

Could my new set of turbo's be bad after just 6 months and 8,000 miles?
