Teleservice
Had a fancy brochure through the post yesterday saying I could sign up for a new teleservice for my f30 - basically texts you if the battery gets low and the car books itself in for a service.
I'm tempted to go for it but not sure if there are any drawbacks (thinking second user may not want a used car phoning the main dealer if he/she is using an Indy garage etc) Has anyone got this already? (I assume it's on cars leaving the factory now)

I don't think there's a charge (nothing's mentioned in the brochure), just need to sign a form and perform an Update on idrive

As for the booking a service, does it say exactly what details are passed to BMW? If it purely just let's them know then, no problems. I would not worry about 2nd user over this, if anything it's a bit of technology selling point. |

I was never quite sure what the nav would/wouldn't do when it came to service time. (Cars only 4 months old)
Here's the brochure: http://www.bmwbrochures.co.uk/telese...04e6f5b975.pdf Does this sound like what you already have?

Here's to hoping the next-next big thing (N-NBT) Nav drives the car there for you!
Over the air software updates looks useful too, I'll probably give it a go, just wondered if I'd missed anything

You start car up, you contact BMW services to give you route to Inverness. They load nav for you, you drive off and then engage radar cruise, All you do now is steer, you get to destination and damn thing parks itself. In between time it will have handled all those light selection for you. |

I received this and have so far ignored it, couldn't see the point. You can activate the battery guard yourself through the connected drive portal (go to Settings > Set Up Services > Battery Guard), I'm assuming the connected drive people would therefore contact you if your battery was low.
And iDrive tells you when the car needs servicing, don't need my local dealer bombarding me with phone calls to tell me this, nor did I want to take up the "free car wash" offer they mentioned if I signed the paperwork and took it in myself.
