M performance kit on pcp?

Car ordered 'insert smiley face'

6 week min wait 'insert sad face'

After years of slow, soot chucking oil burners for company cars, opted out and bought a 335i. Way my company fuel is reimbursed actually cheaper to run than 335d so no brainer for me - just hope they don't cotton on too soon. I can see merits of the soot chucker unit though so may switch to one of those beasts at some point, but have a petrol itch that needs scratching

Can't wait. Gotta try to keep off this forum though as already lining up mperf aero kit through listening to everyone else

Question is- can you get the kit added to pcp? What is experience of residual value and uplift in payments?

Considering exhaust too? Is it any better?

I'd say they add almost zero perceived value to trade in or resale so will be pricey PCP whereas pro nav adds almost nothing to the monthlies.

Nice choice by the way
Edit re exhaust YouTube is your friend, nice clips....it will make want one probably

That's interesting - I've spec'd business nav - sounds like false economy - will get onto dealer ..... again (he probably thinks I'm stalking him or something!)

You tube inconclusive - id like to hear some feedback on exhaust I think

What about Taiwan parts - do they effect your trade in when returning if not OEM?

It doesn't add any residual. You have to pay full amount for kit.

Stupid as it sounds I haven't driven 335i yet. Drove 320 and listened to 235 in forecourt (as the sound of the 6er was part of draw) - dealer getting one in ASAP for me. I'm not concerned though - 320 was nice enough

One thing I want to ask anyone who has one run in - do you get the burble/ pop exhaust note on lift off or down shift in the 335i?

When I bought my 330d, the difference in residuals between the business and pro was negligible. Bus cost £1000, residual £600 thus net cost £400 over 3 years. Pro cost £2000, residual £800 thus £1,200 cost over 3 years. Might have changed now but worth checking. Pro is definitely better but I couldn't justify it given the mileage I do and how little I use nav.

Definitely go with Taiwan parts, far cheaper than oem!

Then remove it all before returning the car, diffuser just unbolts, spoiler, side skirt extensions & front lip unbolt and a bit of heat, fishing line and methylated spirits to remove the 3M tape.

Ask them if you can take out a 235 for a drive. I asked for an M135 for a test drive last year when considering my 335i as they couldn't lay their hands on one for anything, whereas Audi had S4's coming out of their ears at the time, so the BMW guy must have been feeling a bit on the back foot. It's of limited use to be honest, being as they're such different cars, but it's an excuse to thrash a nice car, so worth a pop!

I've had my 335i now for around 8,500 miles and the engine is a wonderful thing IMO. My only criticism is that it's a bit quiet inside. You do get the pops and burbles on overrun, although you'll struggle to hear them unless you've got your window down and are hanging your head out like a demented Spaniel! I have been told by many people stood outside though that it sounds brilliant when slowing down from their perspective. Several people have actually walked up to me in a car park and commented, after I've parked up.

You do get to hear the bangs on up shifts though. They come through loud and clear (and are a real threat to my licence!)

I know it's piped in and fake, but, with hindsight, the in cabin sound of the M135 was pretty nice and I actually find myself thinking that I wish they'd included it on the F31, although I'd never admit as much to my mate that owns one!

Sometimes, a bit of noise is a good thing, however it's created....!

Oh, and if memory serves, changing from Business nav to Pro Nav on my 4 year PCP cost about £20/month.

Just checked - was £18/month

Do you get more money for a Petrol than a Diesel? I am struggling to see how it could be beneficial to run a 335i, other than pushing the boundaries on the man maths.

How many miles a year do you do?

18000 p.a..

Fuel rates differ for petrol and diesel, coupled with favourable fuel prices and it works out.

Quite happy about this obviously.

Of course Nisfan- residuals are the only thing I haven't considered, which I realise are better on the 35d. That might even it out a bit using a pcp and planning to hand it back

But even at a small loss, I would be happy.
