Pro Nav 'Opt' screen icon

Forgive me if this is frequently asked and one of those frustrating noob questions...

I have Pro Nav, so I don't know if this common to all systems, and in the middle of the screen at the far right edge is the word Opt and what looks like a cog.

Have RTFM'd to no avail, tried searching on here and got twelvty results none of which appeared to immediately hint at what I am trying to resolve. So I am asking, what does this mean ?

Thanks

Push the controller to the right when you see it and you should open the screen

Thanks, just tried that and you're correct. It is a shortcut to the options menu.

Now that I've read the replies and pushed the controller to the right it's so obvious!

My next question is why the screen sometimes thinks its night time and dims randomly for short periods before adjusting again.

Did you go under a bridge or a dark cloud?

No bridges, cloud cover unknown. Possibly a dark bit of road because of tree canopy extending across the road.

Is it linked to the auto headlights coming on?

Yeah...it's linked to the auto headlights....every time I go under a bridge or a dark stretch of road the headlights come on and the satnav screen switches to nightime mode.

Much obliged, I've been driving mostly around 7-8pm lately so thought it could be to do with dusk. Not knowing what time that was thought it best to ask.

Thanks all

When I had an E90 I thought the auto lights on was overly sensitive and would come on too early.

How do people find the F30? Are there any sensitivity settings in the idrive like you get in an Audi?
