The 335 is going

Well, shes been an amazing car and I have loved every minute but have I felt the urge to have a new car for once in my life and im jumping in with full acceptance of depreciation and all!

Im getting a white mk7 Golf R. Picking her up beginning of June from VW. Went for a test drive and was smitten. 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, 4 wheel drive, dsg, adjustable suspension and pretty much every extra possible. Its a demo car so not brand new new but still covered by the all important manufacturer warranty and will have less than 4000 miles on it when I collect it. Some pics from the dealers....

Thanks to all those who have helped with my questions over the last 2 and a half years. Will post the car on the classifieds section soon so anyone looking for a low mileage looked after 335, let me know.

They do look a really nice car to be fair and they get good reviews. Will be a slow wait until June now! Couldn't they of done you a good deal on a factory order considering your waiting anyway??

Factory order would have been around August im told and in that case I would have waited for the new reg in September so much more of a wait. Also, a new one ordered from the factory with all the extras this car has would have been around 40k which was just too much.

That Golf is a stunning looking machine... but if personal experience says anything (from someone who has owned some excellent Golfs) i think we will be seeing you back in a BMW in the future. Enjoy the car mate. Looks fantastic.

Let us know how you find the R, I nearly bought the last version before I went for the 335. The new one looks even better and I haven't seen a bad review about it, am sure your love it

A neighbour has just got a new mk7 GTI and it has been turning my head I have to say, that R version looks really nice! Glad the wheels aren't that ones I've seen when it's been reviewed online

The wolf in sheeps clothing thing is one of the reasons I wanted one so much. Its a very fast car but still has 5 doors, lots of luxuries and does 40mpg combined ! Road tax also only £180 a year compared to £485 in the BMW. I also got a couple of insurance quotes and cheapest were around £230 a year for me and the mrs. Thats over £200 less than I pay on the BMW too.

Good choice. Great performance and cheap running costs, what a great package.

Have you seen the Golf R400? 0-60 in 3.9 seconds!

I really like the look of the new Mk7 GTi and R, my neighbour has a new GTi and I keep giving it admiring glances which I have to stop as I've only had my car a few months. The R also is very much a wolf in sheeps clothing, I've seen a thread on PH where they say it's chavvy to have the 4 exhaust tips, but I think it looks great, hope you enjoy it when you get it, roll on June

Saw that, looks amazing. Surely they are going to be very rare and very expensive. 4.9 will do me fine haha

Beautiful. That sun roof is the sex, and those wheels, and those quad exits!

Please take lots of pics soon as you get this. The new R is gorgeous.
