Question about Bluetooth and idrive

A newbie question but I am thinking of getting rid of the extended black panel display from my order since a few people have said that it is pointless to have without nav etc.

I do like the look and the fact that it would show phone calls coming in. I have been trying to find out what information the idrive screen provides with regards to mobile phone connectivity (making and taking calls) I haven't got EBT.

And as a side note what other functions would I lose if if I remove the black panel display.

I believe it just tells you the name/number that's calling.

All you will be missing is larger display for choosing songs/radio stations (i don't see why you wouldn't just look at the idrive screen) and the strange eco pro meter.

If you do choose to have the BPD it's an idea to get speed limit display instead for £70 more as it includes the BPD!

I would swap it for xenons however, the screen is more useful when you have sat nav... It shows last redialled/received name/numbers... Track names, previous and next song. I would keep if my budget allowed

The BPD has an animated economy gauge and also displays ECO PRO information and tips.

Speed limit display needs business nav so out of my budget.

Wow it does look really good. Even tho I won't get many extra functions like navigation directions it's only £140 so might as well leave it in it was the only option that I really liked and could actually afford lol

How are you buying the car? On some lease deals it's cheaper/no more for Bus Nav!

I am leasing but the only thing that was significantly cheaper to add than list price was the metallic paint. If I remember business nav added around £20 per month

I think you've definitely done the right choice going with Mineral White as opposed to Alpine White. It has a lot more characteristics to it and more rewarding when the car is cleaned. It's less common, and grabs the eye when the sun's out.

Good luck waiting for the car, will need to see some pics when she's here

That surprises me, how many years is the lease? Mine is only 2 years and bus nav cost £8pm!

MWA - Is it adaptive cruise control that uses its radar to detect the items ahead on road surface as seen in your photo?

Is that the pro media picking up signals from RTTI?
If so that is a great addition.
