F30 Rear Diffuser (Dual exhaust)

Anyone managed to find one that isn't OEM?

Here's the link:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/161251849312?...84.m1497.l2649

Might have been one of the first ones to buy it. As far as quality goes, I'd give it a solid 10/10. Doesn't feel flimsy or cheap at all.

As far as fit goes, I'd give it 9/10 once it's installed.

As far as installation goes, I'd rate it at 7/10. You can tell this piece is reverse engineered and made from a mould of an OEM piece. It doesn't clip in super easily, you need to force it here and there, push the bumper from the back to get the clips to go in, sand a little here and there to help as well.

I used soapy water to make it easier too... There are a total of 7 screws that hold it in place. The OEM diffuser stays in place with the clips alone, and the screws are there to maintain it in place once at speed.

The aftermarket one I couldn't get all the clips in at first. I got 4 in, then put the 7 screws in and only then would the remaining clips stay in place. After about 10 minutes of attempting to get the clips on, I tried reinstalling the stock diffuser and I was able to do it in 30 seconds, so I knew that I wasn't the problem.

If you want something that is directly plug and play with a perfect and easy installation I'd recommend sticking with the OEM diffuser, even though it means spending double the money.

If you're a little handy and patient, you can go with this one and save some money for other mods.

Yeah that's dirt cheap. I wonder if the fitments on the twin exhaust is any better.

Probably another £20-£30 in import duty though!

Cost is reasonable. My worry would be around the fitting and how hard it would be to actually install it (two left thumbs and all).

True and painting cost too. I'll have a look for a painting included deal like the spoiler.

My 325d will be Alpine White, so if it comes in black, I'm quite happy for it to be that colour as I'm planning on replacing the kidney grills to either gloss or matte black :-)

Maybe I'm not getting this but why not go for the original part? It's cheaper and it was designed for the car

http://www.salesafter.eu/product_info.php?info=p1137_bmw-3-series-f30-f31-m-diffuser--325d-328i-330d.html

They don't list the 335i on there but I guess it must be a similar price.

Not bad. Will have a proper look at home.

Only comment would be that the diffuser pictures don't look like the OEM pics.

So I think the kidney grills in Black and the Diffuser seem like a must. Both come in Black, so no need to pay extra for having them colour-coded.

Now, how fussed am I about CF wing mirrors, CF shifter etc.?

Someone please make me stop!!!!

Because that's the standard M Sport diffuser, not the M Performance diffuser!

I quite like the gloss black look for all the M parts, so I'd have to paint

I see what you're saying but i think low down parts look right in matt. The bumper grills are matt. Also the genuine rear diffusers fitted by BMW are either painted on the sides and matt in middle, or completely matt black. And the M Performance side skirt decals are matt black.

Matt looks good in this close up imo:

My car is filthy at the moment, but I'll post pictures of the eBay diffuser once I clean her up. You guys will see that from the pictures, fitment appears to be excellent.
