Adhesive/caulk to fill gap...

Can anyone recommend a black colored adhesive or caulk-type substance to fill the gap between a carbon fiber front chin spoiler and bumper? IND installed this for me (double sided tape and the three pre-existing screws) but you can see that the lip is pulling away from the bumper (a function of the product, not the installation) slightly so I would like to fill in the space. The last time I had a gap between the front chin spoiler and bumper, the spoiler ripped right off at 65 mph (granted there was more of a gap). I tried filling in the space with some additional double sided tape but it doesn't look good. Thanks in advance!

I would try and secure that thing with at least two very small screws with nuts so it doesn't go anywhere, who cares, they'll be underneath the bumper. As for the caulk, try the latex caulk you can get it at home depot and it does come in black, I've used it in the past in my E46 days. Easy to clean

Whatever you do "DO NOT" use what you've posted on the two links, one is silicone (very messy) and the other is an adhesive (glue) for stuff like emblems and moldings, let me see if I can find the info on the caulk and send it over to you

Yup, I already have three screws with washers securing it...larger washers than the oem bolt/washer combo in hopes that it does a better job keeping it secure.

You're welcome.
I can't really tell from the pics but if you're referring to the 3 existing oem screws they are placed too far back. You'll need some closer to the front edge (bumper lip) to close that gap. By doing this you'll get rid of most of that gap.

Good point. I will have to see how far towards the front I can add some screws without piercing the front lip, but I don't think it's promising.

True, but I've read that betalink is messy and can be difficult to work with. Ideally I need something that will fill the gap while providing some additional adhesion in the event I can't add add'l screws.

You're right but it will require a lot on such a big piece, I went with a very thin bead of beta link on the rear challenge diffuser, great quality piece but the fitment is not the greatest and there is no option to use screws or anything like that on the rear bumper.
Front lip is something that susceptible to breaking and possibly needing replacement more often than the diffuser due to scraping, etc (hopefully not OP) Betalink can be taken off but it is a bitch to do.

OP Betalink would be an option but I wouldn't recommend it on this application.

Take a look and see what's ok or acceptable for you, it's your car. If decide to do screws, remember to always drill on an area that if in the future you decide to remove the lip, the holes would not be noticeable and/or could be filled in without having to worry much about finish, my .02

I just did my mode carbon V1 and fitment was great and still did 2 screws close to the front to ensure it's not going anywhere and also to close the gap in between the bumper and the lip, it worked out perfect, it is not going anywhere.

That's like what E36's have on the side skirts. Works great on the E36 but not sure I would want it on the front of my car, would not look right. But that's me
